The SCAN SACT Capacity Modelling tool:
Measuring resource capacity and modelling future demand was highlighted as a challenge yet vital part of safe SACT delivery and future planning during phase one of the SCAN SACT review. An objective was set to identify a suitable tool which would measure resource capacity within the SACT day units. A short term working group “The future modelling group” was initiated to progress this particular objective. All health boards and disciplines were represented and the SCAN SACT Future Modelling Tool is the outcome of this work. The Tool can be used for the following:
- Give an overview of day unit capacity
- Give a breakdown of specific resource capacity e.g. nurse, pharmacy cabinet, chair resource
- Demonstrate resource required to deliver individual regimens and treatments e.g. model a new regime or change in practice.
- Facilitate modelling work through simulation e.g. change of location, regimen, chair capacity or staffing model
Beta test period has been completed and final drafts of the user manual and supporting standard operating procedures will be on this website once signed off and the business as usual process finalised.
The tool continues to evolve and develop, for further information about it please contact Judith Smith through our Contact tab.
